Since 1998, Dr. Jodi Bakkegard has been traveling to Brazil and India to share the gift of chiropractic with those less fortunate.  She’s had a passion to extend the chiropractic hands of service outside the boundaries of vast fortune and abundance found in the U.S. ever since she graduated from chiropractic school.

Her belief is that chiropractic was born in 1895 and is in existence still today for the purpose of assisting all humanity in healing in all realms - physically to spiritually. 

Fortaleza, Brazil gave birth to her chiropractic mission work.  Twelve chiropractors served over 10,000 people in that week.  The work was so well received that the community of over 2 million invited them back and they returned with 21 chiropractors the next year.  The group served chiropractic adjustments to numerous church communities, schools and throughout various other venues.  September of 1999 ended with an even larger impact and lead to a return of 43 chiropractors in the year 2000.  That year they served over 50,000 people in a week and many business professionals were taking notice of the positive shift. 

Members of the military police force, Rotary Club along with other community and government organization members were adjusted.  Jodi was so impressed with the school system, one supported by the C.C.F., that she served in in 1998 and 2000 that she started sponsoring a child there that first year.

Her mission experience in Calcutta, India was without argument the most challenging but most gratifying experience of her life.  A group of 8 chiropractors from around the world met in Calcutta to share chiropractic with Mother Teresa’s Missionary of Charities.  For an intense six days, they adjusted the Sisters and volunteers of this charity along with all the people, from infants to the elderly, housed in the charity homes.  They also had the great fortune of adjusting children and teachers in two different private school systems, adjusting the children and volunteer teachers at the C.R.Y. (Children Relief and You) projects and adjusting people in one the poorest villages in Calcutta.

Jodi has this to say about her travels:

“These experiences have led me to be exposed to the wealthy and the poor of the world and experience my own growth and healing from it.  I’ve gained valuable talent and wisdom from these opportunities.  I’ve been empowered and enlightened and feel grateful to have the honor and privilege of serving so many beautiful people.  These mission keep me grounded in my humility.”

She will continue participating in these missions to wherever she’s called.  “From conception until the time a person passes on, every individual should be granted the opportunity to express their full human potential.  With more people evolving and exuding more life energy, the world becomes a better place to live.  That’s why I feel the I need to continue the missions.”
